Can a real estate salesperson have multiple brokers in TX?

March 13th, 2010 | by admin |

I’m going to get licensed soon but I currently live in Dallas and frequent Houston alot. I have a friend who owns his own business in Dallas that is a broker and a different friend in Houston who is a broker as well. I’d like to be able to sell real estate whenever I’m in a city for a month or even a weekend.

Does anyone know how that can work?

You would have to be able to hang your license at multiple brokerages. I know here it is possible, so you are going to have to check with Texas licensing laws.

Bear in mind that you may have to pay into multiple MLS services in order to be able to make this happen. Check that too.

A real estate sales person in Texas is sponsored by his/her broker. So, you can only have one. Fortunately, you can sell houses in both Houston and Dallas and any where else in Texas with a valid license.
